regardless of the level at which they're currently programming, I'd like everyone to read this book--not so much for the specific guidelines it suggests, as for the deeper issue it tries to raise. I'd like them to contemplate the notion that you can make choices about how you code, and that those choices really do make a difference to the quality of the code that you produce.
